Spark Structures worked with AAVA to reconfigure and extend an existing barn conversion to provide a high quality 4 bedroom dwelling with a generous entrance and cloaks area, 4 bathrooms, kitchen-dining – living area and utility room.

The decision to retain and retrofit the existing barn with a modest extension was to reduce the embodied carbon, and the timber frame extension was raised on galvanised steel “stilts” to allow flood water to flow under the building without any detrimental effects.
